Who we are

AskBibleQuestions.com is operated by [CONNECTMY.CHURCH LLC] (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the website, the Bible reader, the question-and-answer library, AI study tools, subscriptions, and ABQ tools embedded on other websites, and what you can ask us to do with it.

A word about the questions you ask

Questions people bring to the Bible can be deeply personal. We treat every question submitted to us — whether through a form or an AI Tool — as sensitive, pastoral information. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles about you. We keep it only as long as needed to answer, improve the Services, and meet legal obligations, and we apply stricter retention limits to AI conversations than to ordinary website data. What we collect

Information you give us: questions and feedback you submit; account details (name, email, password hash); billing details handled by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers); and church administrator details for Church Licenses.

Information collected automatically: pages viewed, searches within the site, passage lookups, links clicked, approximate location from IP address, device and browser type, and the referring page. We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console for this. [State whether IP anonymization is on and whether a cookie banner is used.]

AI Tools: the text of your question, the answer and sources shown, and technical signals such as response time and whether the tool declined to answer. AI processing is performed by third-party model providers under contracts that prohibit them from using your content to train their models. [Name the provider(s).]

Embedded tools on church websites: when you use ABQ tools on a church’s website, we receive the same usage and question data described above, together with an identifier for that church. We provide the church with aggregate usage statistics only, never the text of individual questions or the identity of individual users, unless you have created an account with that church and chosen to share it.

Why we use it

To provide and improve the Services; to answer your questions; to operate accounts, subscriptions, and Church Licenses; to keep the Services secure and prevent abuse; to measure which content helps people; to meet legal obligations; and, with your consent, to send you email updates.

Who we share it with

Service providers who help us run the Services (hosting, analytics, payments, email, AI model providers), bound by contract to use data only for our purposes; a church whose embedded tools you used, in aggregate form only as described above; authorities when required by law; and a successor entity if the Services are transferred, under this same policy. We never sell personal information.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for login and security and analytics cookies to understand site use. You can control cookies in your browser; blocking analytics cookies does not affect reading the site. [List any other cookies, e.g., embedded video.]

Children

The Services are intended for general audiences, and church embeds may be used by congregants of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental or church-administrator consent. If you believe a child has provided us information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise these rights from your account settings or by contacting us; we will respond within [30 days]. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Retention

Account data: while your account is open and for [12 months] after. Billing records: as required by tax law. AI conversations: see above. Analytics: [26 months] in Google Analytics. Submitted questions used for published answers are kept in de-identified form.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, multi-factor authentication for administrators, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information we will notify you as the law requires.

International use

The Services are operated from the United States. If you use them from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States. [Add EU/UK transfer language if relevant.]

Changes

We will post updates here with a new effective date and notify account holders of material changes.
